Happy Monday and first of February loves! A new week has started and I just finished my second workout after my tonsil surgery. I started again on Saturday and honestly – I am dying. In so much pain. Ugh. Though as they always say, there’s no gain without pain – so I just hope that the pain doesn’t last too long. Last week was superbly busy with meetings, lunches and dinners. The weekend wasn’t all too calm until yesteray either, as I had another lunch and then dinner with friends and drinks afterwards. Luckily the upcoming week should be calmer. I only have a few meetings so that will be nice and means that I come a little more casual to the office on my easier days. These days paired with the current winter weather are the perfect excuse for my new knit pullover. It’s quite heavy, but I absolutely adore the heavy knit – and hey, it keeps me warm at all times. Because it’s quite fluffy I prefer wearing it with skinny jeans and heels, though knee high boots also work quite well. This pullover is acutally from Zara and – don’t be jealous – only cost me about $10 in sale. How amazing is that? I knew I had to have it immediately.
I am also listening to the new Rihanna album Ani on repeat. Like seriously all the time. Anti came out amazing – and I think the wait was well worth it. Every song has the ability to change my mood and each one can be idenfied with another mood. What are your thoughts on the new album? Xo
Hello loves! Time flies right now again – and at the same time, it doesn’t seem to move a bit. Have any of you ever felt this way? As you might know I got my tonsils removed 10 days ago. It’s already been 10 days, but then again only 10 days. I started bleeding again on Monday so I had to go back to hospital for two nights. I am still far from being fully recovered but it surely is going better now. Yesterday I finally left the house to go a little shopping now that all is on sale. It didn’t last all too long though, as I am still quite weak I noticed. Anyhow – no one likes reading complaints :)
I wanted to share a few photos with you of my favorite black leather trousers. They are the most comfortable pants ever, and still have that certain cool-factor to them due to the faux leather fabric and the sweatpants-look. I ordered them already a while ago at minimum – a danish company. They have similar ones actually on sale now, here! The long-sleeved shirt is from Zara and the sneakers are from Nike. The outfit is one of my favorites when I have that certain laid-back mood – and it almost reminds me of the Yeezus style. Pretty sure that Kayne would have approved as well.
Oh, and I did finally cut my hair. It doesn’t seem to be a lot to many and I doubt everyone notices the change but I did actually cut a full on 12cm. Like seriously, 12cm. Yes, I find it quite brave myself. I am still not a hundred percent familiar with the lenght and want to try out some new styles with it. I’ll try playing around with it as I am surely stuck with the length for a couple more weeks now. And quite frankly, I actually like having that extra hint of volume when waking up. What do you think of this messy, semi-wavy look? xo
Can you guess my favorite color? I know it’s nothing new and nothing majorly creative, but black is the one color that goes with seriously everything, works with (almost) every event and can be worn at any time of the day. I can’t believe I’m actually looking through online shops for autumn and winter clothes whilst lying around in a bikini everyday here in Cyprus. Yep, I’m still on vacation and I won’t deny it – I absolutely love this weather, and my tan is getting on quite well. I am cringing at the fact however, that I will arrive back in Zurich Sunday evening in almost freezing temperatures. Where has the summer gone all so fast? I’m really not ready for snow – and I’ve seen some of my friends post snow pictures already higher up in the mountains. Cringe. Seriously cringe. It isn’t even November yet!
However, here’s to something better – I found some great stuff online. Some, of which I will share with you here on Polyvore. I love black jeans, and although I might already have the one or other pair, I am a true believer of never having enough jeans. Quite frankly, I do sort and throw some out every other season when they are worn down and the fit isn’t as great anymore. I love these ones with ripped knees from topshop for aound 50$ only! In fact, all of the clothes – except the lovely gold accessories – are below 100$ each.
I used to not love turtle necks whatsoever. This season, for some reason, they totally hooked me. This one is perfect and you even get a 10% discount on your first order – screams for a fuller basket! These shoes are perfect for autumn, go with everything due to the color, and look super comfortable due to the slightly thicker heel. I just bought a similar pair already, which is the perfect fit for business as well as casual looks. I love buying clothes that I can not only wear in my free time, but also greatly combine during the week in the office or even when I have meetings. This coat is also perfect – it’s got the slight edgy feeling to it due to the leather, yet is sleek enough to wear over a blazer when off to the office. To finish the look and keep myself from freezing I love wearing scarves in autumn and winter. I’m really digging those thick knit pieces currently, so this one perfectly satisfies my taste.
Last, surely not least though, I love pepping up any outfit with some accessories. Especially black can quickly look dull or depressing if worn with no accessories at all – or even worse – without the right attitude. Attitude seriously is everything when it comes to fashion. You can pull off almost anything if you lift your chin in the right direction and throw out a bright-white smile once in a while. Match that with red lips and you’ve easily transformed the outfit for the evening. This Chanel bag has been on my wish-list for way too long. So I’ve finally decided to get one for myself – maybe already for Christmas. This one is actually a secondhand item, only worn once, yet from the price already much easier on the wallet than straight from the store. I’ll be searching a little more for the best one, though will most likely go for a secondhand one as well. The bracelet and earrings are pieces that will always work, every season, every year, for every occasion. Secondhand versions, for those that don’t want to, or can’t, burn a hole into their wallet can be found here and here. I personally love buying secondhand pieces if possible.
Now I’m off to dinner with the family! It’s BBQ night tonight, which means there will be lots and lots of fresh fish and meat from the grill – I’ll surely have problems again choosing what to take. With that, I wish you a great evening and rest of the week. xo
Black, white and grey – there’s seriously no easier combination when it comes to clothes. I love polyore for making these collages – and for finding some amazing deals online.
With fall having arrived, it’s time to unpack those thicker cardigans, those ponchos, hats and scarfs. Alright, the hat might not yet be needed – but honestly, how cool is it? And there is probably no easier way to hide a messy-hair-day. This hat is my next buy for sure.
This grey cardigan/light jacket is amazing and under $50. For it not even being on sale, it really is an amazing catch.
I’m really in need for some new biker boots, as my old Zara ones just don’t do it anymore and honestly, I’ve fallen in love with this pair from Moschino. What’s your opinion on it?
This tshirt is an absolute eyecatcher and gives all others an easy way to approaching you – there’s no cooler way of starting a conversation over a unicorn. Seriously.
These frends headphones are already in my collection and a go-to item when on the road. I couldn’t live without music and especially for those long fall walks I love having some music ring in my ears. Only need to be careful to not sing out loud with my favorite songs. :)
Leatherpants are a must-have in every closet, every year. You can wear them all the time, to almost all occasions (seriously, I’ve worn them in business before). They are warmer then jeans so it’s really my first grab in the morning when temperatures drop. These ones are a perfect fit.
I’m still looking for the perfect black scarf, and this one really caught my eyes. Surely a cheaper version though, as I’m still not convinced on the price for such an accessorie. Any opinions?
As much as I am complaining about the cold, I cannot wait to wear some of my thicker autumn and winter clothes – there’s just so much to combine! I’m throwing out quite a bit again to make more space for new shopping purchases. Cant wait for the next shopping runs!
I’ll surely keep you up to date on my purchases. Till then, I wish you a great continuing week. xo
Let’s speak gold for a minute. I love gold – mostly when it comes to my jewellery though. I used to only wear silver when I was younger, and although I still wear one ring and earrings from time to time, I have almost switched all to gold. It’s a gold standard, they say. There is something ultimately pure about it, so chic, and so delicate when wearing small items.
Although I have those rather chunky rings (from my grandmother and great-grandmother), I am getting to a point were I prefer the small, delicate statements. Nevertheless, a statement is always good. That is why I love the Kenzo tiger necklace (number 2), or the personalised necklace (number 3). I love those special gifts that are personalised, that not only show the love of the giver, but they are usually keepers. Or there are those love rings or love bracelets from Cartier (numbers 8 and 9) – that most likely any women would die over. Yet, that is one piece to receive as the ultimate love-gift, rather than going shopping by oneself. I don’t mind investing into classics (number 11), as they never go out of fashion. If you don’t like them tomorrow, wait a few days, months or years, and you will love them again. Which is why I am eyeing with a pair of Chanel earrings :’).
What are your favourite pieces? Wishing you a great Tuesday! xo
