Private

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful start into 2017! We have exactly 361 days left this year, to make it our greatest – what’s the plan? I’m out and about a lot this year and will try to tick off all my goals within the next months. First and far most, however, I need to write (well, start) and finish my master thesis. Joy. New Year’s Eve was amazing by the way – we had a house party at my bfs place with another 14-15 people. We had some great food, bubbly wine and a whole lot of fun. Luckily, I had Monday off and was able to get my energy back – ready for the new year at work. Yesterday started rather calm at the office. I organised quite a bit and tried to read through all the emails that piled up over the last few days. Today is seems, is the real start. I’ll be out for a business lunch and am jumping right back into a few large projects that were slightly on hold due to holidays.

I also wanted to share these photos with you my sister took of me in Malta two weeks ago. It’s incredible how warm it was there compared to the weather here. It’s freezing now, a bit snowy and it seems we are still far away from spring. These photos were taken at the Dingli Cliffs. Wherever you looked, you saw nature’s beauty. The cliffs are breathtaking. Yet, what really struck me, were these cute little stone houses (?), which were quite frankly fully falling apart. I am not sure what it was, but I assume they used to be some sort of shelters for farmers when the weather turned bad all of the sudden? Either way, the fact that they were so tiny and, quite frankly, broken down – yet had No Entry & Private written all over – made them especially cute. I had to take a few photos there. It’s a great contrast to the rather fresh velvet trend that everyone is going on about. Well, same here. I love love love velvet. Here, I am wearing my velvet pants from Zara (a few years old), a velvet body also from Zara (this season), and my adidas originals (which are so dirty they must be thrown out, soon). The sunnies are from Dior. What are your thoughts on velvet – keep or throw for 2017?

Camel Coat

Hello loves! I hope you all spent a wonderful Christmas with family, friends and or loved ones. We had a super chilled Christmas this year and even got some take-home sushi in the evening to not have to stress about cooking. It was amazing. We unpacked presents, all watching each other unpack and laughed a lot. Yesterday was rather relaxed, too. We went out for a lunch in the sun and I stayed home mostly after. It seems I am having an allergic reaction to my antibiotics – as my face and hands are burning and got a sunburn with barely any exposure to the sun. So annoying – especially as I usually love to warship the sun as soon as it comes out! So now I’ll give the doctor a call as soon as they are open this morning and see what they have to say. Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to stay in the shade and inside for a couple of days..

Either way, I thought I’d share this little outfit post with you guys. I don’t do a lot of OOTDs, as I barely ever find time for them next to work and studying. Arriving in Malta and doing absolutely nothing work- or study related for 2-3 days gave me the chance to take a couple of photos, though. So I’ll be able to share a few more of these with you soon! What are your thoughts on these? Like? Special thanks here to my photographer, aka my sister. I forgot to bring my camera to Malta (how?!), but thankfully the iPhone quality has quite picked up and makes better quality photos than I thought!

I am basically wearing a complete Zara outfit. The camel coat, velvet body, and jeans skirt are from this season (perhaps still in store). The velvet ballerinas are from the beginning of summer, also Zara. I am also wearing my beloved, everyday Gucci bag and Dior sunnies – along with my Hermes bracelet and my (inherited) rings that I wear on the daily. I am especially in love with this coat – it seems to fit to everything. I know it’s been a trend-piece this whole year already and I am rather late with it in my collection, but I am so glad I bought it! Sadly it’s too cold in Zurich to wear at the moment, but at least I get the chance here in Malta – and then again in spring (whenever that arrives..).

Tonight we’re going to meet some friends and have dinner at their place. Should be lovely – I haven’t seen them since quite a few weeks now and it’s always most enjoyable to catch up!

Dionysus Blooms Love

I can finally call this beauty mine! I’ve been looking to invest into a new bag for quite some time these pasts months and it took me almost forever to decide – and I could not have made a better decision. I’ve been thinking about getting a Chanel for really long – but the fact that everyone (and I mean, everyone – here in Zurich) has it, didn’t make it all too special anymore. It’s still on my wish-list – of course – but that will be another time. I fell in love with the Dionsyus designs by Gucci from the day they came out: and I had to have one. I’ve been thinking long about which one of these to get and almost got the simple one with black suede leather inbetween. In the end, it probably fits better with most outfits. I had both on in the store and it took forever for me to decide. Lastly, I chose the Blooms version and decided – for once in my life – to go for some color. The print is amazing. I am a firm believer that it can be worn with almost everything (considering my wardrobe isn’t all too colorful anyway) and surely can add some warm blossom-feelings in winter. Lastly, it’s a bag I don’t see all too often on the street. Quite frankly, I have not seen one thus far here in my inner circles. Yay!

I’m wearing this bag 24/7 at the moment, though did put it aside on the weekend when the parties seemed a little „too crazy“ and I was scared it would be ruined first thing.  I am debating whether I should take it with me tomorrow – as I will be flying to: Hamburg! Finally going back to my fav German city to visit some family and friends. Most likely, this piece of love (ahem, the bag) will join me. This week has been rather calm actually – finally – as I took off a few days to really sleep in and get some other projects going. For those of you following me on snapchat, you already saw that I started painting again. There is seriously nothing more relaxing than sitting down and painting for a couple of hours. The last strokes were finished-up this morning. Once its dry and ready for hang-up, I will take a second look at it (whether I actually like it haha) and might just share it with you on the blog. I am deciding whether to start a second one today – completely different direction, though might need to move this project to another time. Next week Monday I return to Zurich only to jump back into my hectic lifestyle (aka uni and work). Till then, I will try to make the best of my free-time. xo

Lena Gercke X adidas

Hey loves! I just came home from a super busy day at work, many many meetings, a lovely wine tasting afterwards, and last but not least I went to the girls-only adidas Event where Lena Gercke (German model) stood tall for selfies all evening long. In all honestly, I’ve never been the person to love sports since I was a kid and thus it wasn’t a routine at all before – unlike Lena, whom has always been a fitness-geek since she was young. Nevertheless, I try incorporating sports into my weekly calendar as often as possible. I admit it, I often enough need to kick my own ass when it comes to actually doing something – and of course, I don’t manage it daily, I do have days where I feel down and won’t do anything, I do have days where I overeat and feel even worse. I am normal. Yet, I notice I start missing it on the days I don’t do it at all – it allows me to calm down, get away from the busy daily-life and hey – it’s healthy. So when I got the chance to attend the adidas event tonight I was quite excited to have a look at the newest clothes and what pieces the brand presented tonight. Show-stealer was surely the PureBoost X sneacker, which, Lena actually wore herself. Because let’s be honest, working-out becomes so much more fun with a new set of sneakers or a whole new outfit. The event was hosted at Jelmoli here in Zurich, where you can also buy the shoes online – though, Lena wore the new black & salmon colored version (not online yet). Personally, I had an eye on the new superstar editions – I love the classic black and white sneaker, already own a pair (though really need a fresh, clean one!), have the fully gold ones, the black one, and now have an eye one the black ones with a reptile skin touch to it and the grey ones. What are your thoughts, another black (I know my closet could use more color) one or a new color? Decisions, decisions!

On another note, I love the „new“ trend of wearing sports wear all day long. I wrote „new“ because, really, it’s not new at all. We see celebrities running around in sports clothes since so long, wearing sneakers daily has become a standard and they even work instead of heels paired with a dress (and leather jacket, whilst we’re at it). However, it seems that although this so-called trend is nothing new, it always takes time to arrive in Europe (unless coming from within, of course). I often feel as if once certain trends have been defined in the US, they are most likely to jump over to London first, and, once it’s been generally accepted to work out (or look good, in this regard), it finally hits all other countries.

Now, time to get ready for bed – I really need a few more hours tonight! xo

Heavy Knit

Happy Monday and first of February loves! A new week has started and I just finished my second workout after my tonsil surgery. I started again on Saturday and honestly – I am dying. In so much pain. Ugh. Though as they always say, there’s no gain without pain – so I just hope that the pain doesn’t last too long. Last week was superbly busy with meetings, lunches and dinners. The weekend wasn’t all too calm until yesteray either, as I had another lunch and then dinner with friends and drinks afterwards. Luckily the upcoming week should be calmer. I only have a few meetings so that will be nice and means that I come a little more casual to the office on my easier days. These days paired with the current winter weather are the perfect excuse for my new knit pullover. It’s quite heavy, but I absolutely adore the heavy knit – and hey, it keeps me warm at all times. Because it’s quite fluffy I prefer wearing it with skinny jeans and heels, though knee high boots also work quite well. This pullover is acutally from Zara and – don’t be jealous – only cost me about $10 in sale. How amazing is that? I knew I had to have it immediately.

I am also listening to the new Rihanna album Ani on repeat. Like seriously all the time. Anti came out amazing – and I think the wait was well worth it. Every song has the ability to change my mood and each one can be idenfied with another mood. What are your thoughts on the new album? Xo
