Gotta-Catch-Them-All

I admit it: I did it. As soon as I finished my last final course project last week Thursday, I downloaded Pokémon GO Friday during lunch. The fever hit me – I gotta catch them all. No but honestly, the game brings back so many fun childhood memories. It’s incredible. I don’t have time to run around all the time and I still do got to work. However, I did notice myself walking the one or other longer way to get to a destination – carried by the hope that I’d see another Pokémon on the go. Want to catch a Pikachu right away? Wait a little while before trying to catch your first (out of 3 optional) ones, throw around a few balls and voila – Pikachu will be at your feet. It might sound super childish – and I admit it is – but I really do love the game. Neverthless, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a hype. Let’s see how long it stays that way.

During the week I don’t have much time either way – though today during the lunch I walked around a bit before getting food and – yes, I’m loving it – caught a few more Pokémon. The upcoming days will be rather stressful though. I’ve got a few meetings coming up tomorrow, need to fly to London Wednesday (just for the day), got more meetings in Zurich on Thurday (plus celebrating a colleagues birthday), and a few more things to do on Friday. Then, finally, I have a week off. August 1st (Monday) will be off anyway, as we have a national holiday here. Tuesday-Friday next week I took off – I want to calm down a bit (use my way-too-many vacation days) and: paint! I finally ordered new materials and want to work on two large paintings again – one for the bedroom ,one for the living room. I’ve got quite a few ideas, and two concrete ones, though I need to fine-tune them and decide on how it will (more or less) look like in the end. Since I work a bit more abstract, I can’t plan it all too much, anyway.

Now that it’s raining and I don’t have to work on any uni stuff for the next two weeks, my evening will entail starting a new book and maybe some TV. Very relaxing! What are your plans for the week? The weather in Zurich is a catastrophe right now – its seriously pissing outside! xoIMG_6945

I scream for Ice cream

It is hot (!) outside. We currently have 33°C in the shade in Zurich today and you can’t imagine the heat in the office. Although it feels „cool“ when coming into the rooms, it also gets warm after a while. And of course, it is even hotter outside. Today was a long day – I had a meeting that took well over 5hours; though thankfully it went well. Now I just packed my things together, will leave the office and go to the pool for a swim. It’s so relaxing and refreshing – yet it feels like the water is ice-cold compared to the temperatures outside haha. I also had the most delicious banana ice-cream the other day with my bestie (bought in front of Globus) – and I am really craving another one. The heat is the perfect excuse, so I might jump on the bike after and get myself one. Seriously though, if you are ever in Zurich, try this ice-cream. And make sure to try the banana one. I haven’t tried any others to be honest (most are not lactose free), but this one is insanely good. And I am very, very picky when it comes to my sweets. Quite frankly, I am not the biggest ice-cream lover out there – but this one got me totally hooked!
Tonight will be, sadly again, all about studying. Thankfully, it’s my last night before I have two weeks off of uni – means, I will finally be able to enjoy the weather. If it stays well – so cross fingers! xo

Sundays

Happy Monday! The weather this weekend was a-m-a-zing! Of course I was stuck in my little dark hole room most of the time studying – but, it’ll only be until Wednesday and then I have two weeks off. I am beyond excited to finish this Master program (early next year, hopefully)! I couldn’t not go outside at all, though. So I went out to Thalwil to see my bestie at the lake, soaked in some sun, and ate from the BBQ kiosk restaurant. It was simple, yet delish! I am crossing fingers that by the end of the week we will continue to have this weather – so I can finally tan again. With my luck, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if it rains. Cross fingers!

Until then, I have quite a bit to do – at the office, evening drinks and dinners this week, finishing/writing two more papers for uni until Wednesday – and meetings on the go. I might go out for a nice dinner on Thursday, though, to celebrate the start of my two weeks „uni-vacation“. What are your plans for the week? xo

And here is a snapshot (yep, from snapchat) of Saturday’s accessories. I watched „Central Intelligence“ at the movies – Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson were SO funny. My pretty choker (necklace) is actually a simple black satin ribbon – used for wrapping presents. I love using it because I can choose what style I want, double-wrapped, with a bow, or singly chic. I’m also wearing Dolce K on my lips from the Kylie collection – I must say these colours stay on forever! Oh, and the glasses, are Gucci. :)

Malta Memories

Back in Zurich and already missing my mini-vacation-vibes. Malta was filled with work, moving, unpacking boxes and – sun. Especially the last few days I was able to fully calm down and relax. It was really needed. I’m not sure if you know this – but I kept on hearing my ringtone and my phone getting messages, even when it wasn’t ringing or making any noises? I guess it was my body telling me that I need a break. And so I did. It took me about two days to fully level myself and calm down but it surely helped. I got my hair done (just the roots  and a trim), went to get my nails done, did a little shopping trip, and fully relaxed in the evenings over some good food and wine. Wednesday morning I flew directly to London for business, which is why, my update lacked majorly. Like I’ve said, things have become a little heavy the past few weeks and the times that I actually had „nothing“ to do I tried to enjoy – and catch up on sleep! Friday evening I landed back in Zurich. Oh, I love coming home. As much as I travel, coming home to my own bed (let’s be honest – everyone loves their own bed) and my own full closet was heartwarming. I saw my friends and my bestie yesterday, went to a house/pool party and enjoyed the full afternoon and night (after finishing my course project earlier in the morning).

Today has been similarly relaxing. I tried to really not stress myself with anything – slept in, indulged in some (gluten free) pretzels and made myself a small brunch. The afternoon was filled with a sun-bathing session outside the city swimming pool and followed by my routine 1km swim. It feels so good to get back into routine! Now I’m lying on my couch watching the final match. Whom are you supporting, Portugal or France? I really can’t choose, because neither teams are MY teams. Yet, I do have a tendency towards Portugal! After the game I’ll surely jump into bed though, as the next days will be busy with work and I need to catch up on 2 weeks not being in the office. Joy!

Have a lovely Sunday evening! xo
