Hi everyone! I hope you all had a brilliant weekend and Sunday – I sure did. I actually just looked through my phone photos I have taken this month and deleted all the unnecessary ones. In general though, I actually keep quite a lot. It’s amazing how we are able to take pictures and with that visualize memories so easy these days with the technology we have been given. I truly cannot imagine my live without my iPhone, my iPad or being able to connect to the internet so quickly. Everything can be googled within seconds, on the go! So to get back to my main point of this: I reflected on the past month and am so grateful of it. Really, I have enjoyed every moment of it. I’ve had stressy moments, flew to Düsseldorf, saw my family, flew to Alicante, saw my grandparents, went to an Art show, met new people and saw some of my loved ones.
Being able to capture so many of these moments makes me so happy. It is so normal for some, yet others don’t even have access to this technology, have the chance to travel or have problems that are no where comparable to my own. I try to remind myself as often as possible, that these opportunities, these moments and the people around me are so special. Never should it be taken as granted, but instead every moment in life should be appreciated. One can learn from mistakes, love more from having felt loss and can stand up again only after one has fallen.
I just watched the speech Emma Watson gave about feminism and am rather speechless. For all those that have not watched this yet, I would really appreciate if you did. It is so simple, yet so inspirational. It is so true, yet most are not aware of it. #heforshe
Hi all – I am back! It feels like I’ve been gone for ages. Actually, I tried posting earlier, but I had some problems uploading the photos and content during my actual trip to Alicante. It was LOVELY. It’s always somewhat special when visiting the grandparents. No matter what age, one is almost always treated like the little one that never grows up. Oh, how I love that feeling. Except for the wine-part – I love enjoying a glass of wine to my dinners, thankfully that was no matter to discuss.
We went out for dinner almost every night – except Thursday, when my grandpa cooked us his delicious, various specialties. Thursday is also their traditional night of shooting. They meet up with friends of their age at a specially rented place and do some “fun-shooting” as they call it. Guess what: Not only did I participate, but also did I win that night with the most points; even setting up a new record. Yep, I think I’ve found a new talent, too.
Besides swimming in the ocean everyday, except for the first day (was a little bit too wavy), being on the boat daily and going out for dinner, I managed to get quite the tan after only a few days. Oh how I love being tan. I am usually super pale, which ends in people frequently asking me if I am feeling ill or if that is my “natural” paleness in winter. Yes, I am super white in winter. The happier I was, that I managed to increase my tan-lines before the summer came to an end. This year’s winter goal: keeping that tan as long as possible!
Speaking of summer-endings: It’s officially autumn (or fall) as per today – at least in our calendars. As much as I love(d) the summer, I am eagerly excited for autumn. I love it when the leafs change their color, when everything around me turns red, orange and yellow and when I can start wearing all the layers again. Speaking of, have you seen the new collections coming in? It seems I am endlessly drawling over the new pieces when walking around town. This “I-really-need-to-start-saving”-mode has just not yet arrived haha. Anyone have similar troubles?
I love the summer, more than anything else – and I cannot believe that it’s basically coming to an end this year, once again. Luckily, I still have one small mini-vacation infront of me. Yes, you heard it right: off I go to Alicante! I love Spain, and although I haven’t been there since a while I cannot wait to see my grandparents again. If only, for a very short time. I will very much try to soak in as much sun as possible. Seriously, summer is only coming to an end and I already have the feeling I am completely pale haha. How can that be?
So now the packing begins! I will be taking a very, very early flight tomorrow. I hate waking up early – I get so moody, it’s horrible. Luckily, I never take it out on the outside world haha. I’m not sure if any of you know this problem, but I’m sure to not be the onlyy one with this problem. I pack too much! Seriously: it does not matter if I travel 4 nights or a full 2 weeks, I always manage to fill a whole large suitcase. It’s killing. I would bet with you that I will manage this time, as well. I mean, you have to think of everything. Mostly I will be in the ocean, on the boat and wearing a bikini. I will need one outfit for the evenings – there are four. That should be it: but, what if a storm comes up, I don’t feel like wearing one of the pieces or I buy something small that totally needs a new outfit? Yes, those are my packing problems… (*think me rolling my eyes here!)
For the quick flight I don’t really need much. I am also hoping to not check e-mails much and fully relax. Unfortunately, technology is one of my biggest loves, not giving me the opportunity to fully, fully let go. But imagine, no blog-readings, no instagram, no texting my besties? I would die. So I will take my iPad mini, my fr(i)ends for music and super importantly: my small Canon (EOS M). Ahh.., I cannot wait! I actually just bought the iPad mini last week – is it not SO cute? My old one, Version 2, has kind of died upon me. It is slower than slow and now the microphone is broken, too. I’ve been hoping on a new iPad presentation by Apple but to my astonishment there is nothing new coming out so far. I had been planning to buy the “new” iPad since the beginning of the year and was totally fed-up with not having seen a new one coming. My only decision, till the very last second, was the size. iPad Air vs iPad mini. I chose the mini and am SO satisfied. It is absolutely enough for reading on the go and it fit’s perfectly into every bag – even this new clutch from Friis & Company. Okay, it’s really not that new, but as you can see on the tag, I did not have the chance to take it out yet. So this will be a first in Spain for the WORD – ahh, how I love first-ies! ;)
Now enough talking, I really should finish up the packing! The flight, like I said, is waay too early. On the good side, I can enjoy the whole day in Alicante and be out on the boat already by 11 am tomorrow – so fun! Wish you all a wonderful rest of the week!
**You know when suddenly your computer shut’s down and everything you had written is suddenly gone? Well, that is what happened with this post. I was so fed-up that I left it, took a drink to cool down and then to re-start typing. Obviously, it turned out totally different haha!**
I’ve told you previoulsy that music is one of those things that I cannot live without. Obviously, the right pair of headphones shouldn’t be missing. Recently I ordered myself these new beauties from FRENDS. I keep on repeating myself, I know, but again: I love gold. And leather. With these headphones I’ve found the perfect combination of both. I decided on white to make it a little friendlier around the head – yes, not all I own is black. I love the details of the headphones, the small gold buttons for volume and picking up the phone, the perfectly soft white leather and of course, the sound. I’ve been wearing these all the time recently.
I’ve been looking for the right headphones to buy for quite the while. When out and about in the streets I normally have my headset on, hidden under my hair, so that I can take calls when on the go. It surely is practical, because I can listen to music on one side and still hear the traffic and people around me on the other ear. I also love my headset for not having one of those long cables that you keep getting caught up in – or atleast I do, ever so often. But sometimes it’s just not enough. Sometimes I need the beat and bass on both sides of my head, need to just zoom out, de-focus and lay my head back. That is what I wanted headphones for. There are so many great headphones out there, really. I wanted a pair that (obviously) plays the music well, does not ruin or over-play the bass and, quite obviously, look somewhat stylish. Yes, there are tons of great quality headphones out there that might be better than my FRENDS headphones. However, I do try staying within a certain price-span and to be fully hoenst – I just could not resist the gold. To me, this sure is a catch to keep.
I initially bought these for travels, and most likely, that is when they will be used. But I also noticed them to be super practical when wanting to blast the music as loud as possible, without having to wake the neighbors. One song (still) being played on repeat via these lovely FRENDS is”Never Let Go” by Anthony Hamilton. I just do not get sick of this song!
