My World of Magazines

Two weekends ago I was in Hamburg and upon buying some necessities, which are cheaper in Germany than Zurich, I couldn’t resist but buy a load full of magazines at the airport. I love diving into my perfect little bubble, which I call my world of magazines. I can spend ours flipping through the pages, looking at the pictures and then taking the next one. After I flipped through all of them, I start going to the first magazine to actually read some of the articles. I used to read so much more magazines, though nowadays barely do I have the time for it. I could, I guess, read before going to bed. Though  most of the evening, after work, I love doing absolutely nothing – and I mean nothing. I can stare at a wall for 1 hour and relax, calm down and enjoy the quiet peaceful moment. Weird, I know.

These magazines are actually a perfect example of it, I have bought these two weeks ago and at most, I have gone through 3 of them fully. The good thing about it though, they last – so long! I used to read them all at once and then was annoyed for having to wait a whole month for the next ones to come out (for most magazines). Now it’s perfect – after about 4 weeks I have read most of them, or hopefully all, and can buy the next stack. The only one missing here is the Vogue – though – my mother has taken on a subscription on it, for me. Thank you!

Which is your favorite, must have and fully read-through magazine?

A Healthy Coconut Flash

Happy Sunday everyone! For those of you following me on my instragram – you might have noticed my slight obsession with smoothies lately! A few of my friends have asked me about what recipes I use and so I’ve decided to share one of my favorite smoothies with you today. I’ll be honest, normally there is no fixed recipe to my breakfast smoothie. I shop all different kinds of fruit and always have a large choice at home. Upon waking up I spontaneously then decide what will go into my smoothie. Rarely do I ever prepare them the night before, unless I know I won’t have time in the morning.

Here are the ingredients for this delicious fruity coconut-water smoothie:

– ⅓ mango
– 1 peach
– 1 kiwi
– 1 orange (peeled, of course)
– 1 apple
– 330 ml coconut water

Quickly cut everything into pieces and peel the fruit (apple and peach upon choice), throw everything in the mixer and add the coconut water to it – voila – there goes the amazingly refreshing smoothie. This one was actually a lunch I took with me to the office, as I knew I wouldn’t have too much time that day.

Do you guys have any smoothie recipes, that you cannot live without? I’d love to hear all about them!

Healthy Party Style

Following all of these majorly inspiring blogs out there, I couldn’t help it, but not over-look these amazingly colorful straws. Going into the english bookstore this week to find a special read, I finally found the straws I’ve been seeing all over the web. Honestly, how sad is it, that I can get so excited for paper-straws in differently stripped colors? Well, I can. Not only did I buy one color – no – I bought four. A few days previous to buying them, my lovely mom actually got me the black and white ones. Additionally, she got me the book on how to create the perfect Macarons. Doesn’t this literally scream for some more baking? I surely think so and cannot wait to try making my favorite sweets ever!

The cute green box with the coffee print is from one of my favorite cafés in Zurich – Babu’s Coffeehouse. The food, the coffee, the brunch – the juices – and especially the interior, it’s all made with so much love. I recently went there for brunch with my girls. When I told my mother about it, wanting to show her some cute little places in Zurich, she obviously already knew about it – and loves the place as well! So Babu’s is surely one of those coffeehouses I really recommend to anyone that lives or visits Zurich and loves to enjoy a great coffee, brunch or even green juice (so little places in Zurich have green juices!).

While strolling around the food section at Globus, I couldn’t help myself but stop by this with-love-packed Earl Grey Tea. I love myself some Earl Grey on those chilly days and adding that I still needed a tea strainer for some of my teas, made the decision upon buying it just so much easier.

I am now ready to sip my morning smoothies, color harmonized, with my straws and ready for those more chilly days, which are surprisingly often this summer in Zurich. I seriously cannot wait for my next smoothie!

In Silver Memory

There are so many things I took with me from Marrakesh, as I’ve told you before, especially the memories I’ll always keep within me. Memories always stay clearer in mind, if there is something to remind you though. Or it seems that is the case for me. Of course I couldn’t leave this beautiful city without taking some things for my new apartment. This silver teapot is not only the perfect decoration piece, bringing some cultural feelings into the room, but also great for winter. I love drinking tea in winter and love it even more when presented in an uber-cute way. This might sound horrible, I know, but I think things can immediately taste somewhat better if they are presented in a great way.

Currently my lovely silver teapot is placed in the living room reminding me of the beautiful times in Marrakesh. I cannot wait for winter, when I can present some tea to my friends in this stylish piece. The first time I saw it in Marrakesh, I really wanted to rub it, hoping a genie would pop out and fullfil three wishes of mine. Sadly, this did not happen, though I would know the three wishes straight away. What would you wish for, if you had three wishes for free? Continuing, I wish you all a great rest of the week!

Now We Are One

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you have been able to enjoy this past week and taken advantage of the amazing sale, which has once again hit us. Obviously it’s been around a little longer now, but only now are things down up to 70%. My heart literally skipped a beat this past week. I finally bought some new shirts and can now throw out some old ones. Also, I finally found an amzing one-piece (photos will follow!).

I did not only buy clothes in shops this time, but also online. One of my favorite online shops (basically the only one, where I ever order things) is surely BestSecret. If any of you  need access by the way, drop me a quick comment with your e-mail and I’ll be more than happy to invite you. Living in Switzerland it makes it harder to order some things. Thankfully, my mother still lives in Düsseldorf (Germany) though, so I can always order my stuff to her place. Since my dad also flies over every weekend, I get my clothes way faster. Also, BestSecret normally only takes 2 to maximal 3 days to deliver the products. Usually I’m much more into feeling the materials before buying things, though this online store always has massive sales on great brands. During sale season, and now during the WorldCup, there is even more sale. I especially fell in love with 4 shirts, which I bought straight away. I also bought a fifth one, which I gave my sister as a present for finishing tenth grade – Congratz again!

Here are two of the four I got myself on BestSecret. I felt like bringing a flash of color into my closet, since I usually only wear black, and think summer is always a good time to wear some colorful statement pieces. What’s your favorite online shop, do you have one?
